The variable speed Drives h ve been in production for over 30 years. Both the pulley disks a )move aially along the serrated hub b) and are forced to working flanks of the wide sections V bell c) by specially designed basket shape spring d) the forces resulting from the torque transmission are carried by safely dimensioned serrations very small surface pressure are maintained,which are well within the premissable limit.therefore a long life achieved.

Speed adjustment.

The motor drive,fitted with in the variable speed pulley,is firmly fixed to the side base and is moved either toward or away from the fixed pulley when running. Through this changed is center distance between driving and driven and driven shaft,the wide sections ‘V’ belt is pulled in or out of the spring loaded variable speed pulley and in turn the revolutions of the fixed pulley.The other variable speed control apart from motor slide bases are motor pivoting arm or jockey pulley. In all cases with the aid of lead screw and accurate machine speed is achieved.

Variable Speed Pully and fixed pulley fitting instructions

The spring loaded variable speed pulley is fitted to the drive end which is the most cases the electric motor. The fixed pulley is fitted to the driven end. Variable speed and fixed pulleys can be mounted to the vertical or horizontal shafts and are assembled in the same manner as normal’V’ bell pulleys. Please note that the variable speed pulleys can be radially secured with grub screw [provided with pulley] or axial tightening screw[optional]. We recommend the use of axial tightening screw,if the variable speed pulleys are used with brake motors of for shock loaded drives. The bore of the variable speed pulley are to ISO limits and fits. The keyways are to IS:2710.
